I have 365 days left to get everything into my 20s that I want to do. Gotta get moving!!! So here are my 29 intentions for the year ahead:
- LEARN TO WHISTLE (I have tried this many times, it has been a New Years resolution 3 times, and it has yet to happen!) I’m not letting my 20s close without being able to for-real-for-real-hail-a-taxi-whistle. This is happening.
- Pass a Level C1 Spanish placement course (currently I’m at B1)
- Be a presenter at an intercultural-related conference or event
- Look better than ever – as in wear the same pants I wore in high school (I can do that now sooo just need to maintain), and confuse people how old I am
- Do a crazy Yoga position I think Crow position is a good option!
- Go to 3 new countries
- Drive a fancy sports car, Ferrari, Maserati, or…? (and yes, I can drive manual transmission very well, so I’d like to take a fancy shmancy sexy beast out for a spin)
- Practice detachment, letting go and embracing the impermanence of everything and smile about it
- Give my time. VOLUNTEER someplace. Specifically, I’d like to volunteer with the elderly here in Spain.
- Pass up on “mediocre” food and go for more top notch deliciousness – In fact, apply same philosophy to life in general!
- Take Risks in life, work and love
- Listen to my gut and trust my instincts
- Dance as often as possible
- ATTEMPT to learn how to play the guitar…OR any instrument really
- Keep writing (aka blogging!)
- Read at least 1 book per month – I just bought Life of Pi (and then I’ll go watch the movie…!)
- Read a book in Spanish (first on the list: La Alquemista)
- GIVE random gifts for no reason at all, open the door for others and help old ladies on the bus (keep chivalry alive!)
- Make faster decisions (especially when ordering at restaurants!)
- Know the rules and know when to Break ‘em!
- Have faith in all that comes my way and everything inside of me
Now you might be thinking - Intention – is kind of a flimsy word. If we just intend to do something, its not a guarantee or really strong commitment. But on the other hand, I’m just not going to put harsh terms on myself and reason to be critical for not accomplishing a task I promised. My philosophy of self-management has evolved and this more gentler approach is how I’m going to move forward.
So, I realized 29 is a lot of numbers and a lot of intentions. So I’ll stick with 21, refer to #20 if you are confused.
There you have it: 21 Intentions for the final chapter of La Vida de Banessa de los Veintes! Do you think I missed something on the list? You know me – I’m always open to feedback or a challenge… !
